The Human Race

Nestled in the Caribbean,

An island split in 2

Sand and Sun, it should be fun,

But that just isn’t true

The Earth did quake in a violent way,

And nothing much was left that day

Now the people there just have their prayers

And what we give and what we share

And these are the days that define who we are

For some life seems so easy but for some of us it’s very hard

Get it together now people there ain’t no time to waste

We gotta help one another if we’re gonna win the human race

The leaders keep on fumbling,

 Fussing with their fights

With a million bellies rumbling,

Huddled in the night

Watch it go from bad to worse,

Makes you wonder why

This could be a paradise

And not a place where thousands die

And these are the days that define who we are

For some life seems so easy but for some of us it’s very hard

Get it together now people there ain’t no time to waste

We gotta help one another if we’re gonna win the human race

Do you know what it’s like to lose everything?

When your hands are tied, it’s hard to take the things we bring

And these are the days that define who we are

For some life seems so easy but for some of us it’s very hard

Get it together now people there ain’t no time to waste

We gotta help one another if we’re gonna win the human race
