BIG EASY BLUES
There’s trouble on the
Bayou and I’m wondering what I can do
It’s been 2 long weeks now,
but I’m afraid the worst isn’t through
And I’m so far away, but
still I’m sad, still I’m blue
The factory and the pick-up
truck are broken down and boarded up
And I don’t know if it
could ever be the same
Now everybody’s scrambling,
tryin’ to find someone to blame
Maybe I’ll blame the
weatherman; maybe I’ll blame Uncle Sam
Or maybe I’ll blame the
wind and the rain
But it doesn’t matter
anyway….
Big Easy, please come back
again
We need your blues, and
your Mardi Gras too
Some fine Cajun rhythms,
and Creole cuisine
It ain’t so easy when
you’re down and out you know…
I wanna lend a helping
hand, I wanna try and understand
I wanna complain to the
wind and the rain
But it just doesn’t matter
anyway….
Big Easy, please come back
again
We need your blues, and
your Mardi Gras too
Some fine Cajun women; you
know what I mean…
So please Big Easy, won’t
you come back again… Oh,
I hope you come back again
I pray you’ll come back
again
